Position Description: Principal Software Engineer

Job Summary

Develop and validate image segmentation algorithms for automatically locating objects and delineating them in medical images; develop prototype software and test software on clinical data sets; evaluate results with clinical partners and document algorithm performance; create high-level design for a SaaS delivery model.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Study current image segmentation algorithms implemented in Medical Image Processing Group at University of Pennsylvania;
Test existing algorithms on radiation therapy data sets, analyze results against reference data sets, and characterize disease anomalies that affect current algorithm performance;
Discuss modifications of the algorithms with Medical Image Processing Group and implement changes;
Implement a strategy to evaluate contouring results and test algorithm on a sufficiently large set of radiation therapy data; iteratively optimize algorithms until acceptable performance is achieved;
Develop requirements and key performance specifications for a software-as-a-service (SaaS) delivery model.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in computer science or engineering;
Knowledge and experience in software engineering including development in C and C++;
Knowledge and experience in medical imaging and/or image processing is preferable;
Familiar with industry standards for imaging (DICOM) and hospital systems (HL7) preferred;
Experience with test automation mechanisms that reduce manual labor is preferable;
Ability to work with clinical personnel for gathering requirements and validating results;
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. as a W2 employee (visa sponsorship not available).

Position Description: Student Intern

Job Summary

Quantitative Radiology Solutions has recently completed the Penn I-­‐Corps Summer program and would like an intern who could help us continue to develop the commercial opportunity for a new application of our technology. Specifically, we are looking for someone with a solid business and / or science background who could contribute to the following tasks:

Identify target companies active in the medical imaging post-­‐processing and medical oncology markets that could be interested in our technology. Suggest a list of individuals at those companies that might be potential contact points for us.
Research the acquisition activities by these target companies, including valuation of acquired companies.
Identify companies using a SaaS business model in medical imaging, and document marketing and pricing strategies for these companies.
(if possible) Interview radiologists / medical oncologists (target users for our technology) and document adoption criteria (we have funding from Penn I-­‐Corps for this task).
